Not having our easiest momento right now.

It isnt new to hear Tropical Seeds isnt working. It does in the effort part, I do work hard everyday trying to make this to take off, but seems impossible day by day. We think something is failing, something isnt righ…we only only see a very little number of people interested in our project and strains, and we simply aint got sales.

Lets face it, no sales is the same as saying no project, impossibility to continue. Why are we thinking in shutting down business ? It´s easy to understand :

I just cant spend so many time, money and efforts in a project that doesnt work and doesnt even covers expenses of our activity. This isnt new, I mean, we´ve been opened to public offering our strains for around 5 years now, and only had profits last year.

There iss a lot of love and passion involving this project, it would be impossible to continue in case there wasent. I´ve always thought it was worth the try. Every year Rafa from Cannabis Online and I talk and discuss and we end up encourasing ourselfs and thinking the next year will be the one so we can be stronger and not stop making huge efforts in what we do.

But this year has been horrible. Don’t like publishing this type of details but this may give a clear idea of what we are talking about. Since we started our new web, last year, we´ve only had 60 people registered in our website a total number of 31 orders. Yes, in a year time. So you can make numbers and have a close idea now.

It is an every day task to think in what is wrong, what could we make to improve, why so little sales. We know we aren´t the best commercials and marketing isnt our strongest point. We focus our efforts in working hard and giving a true best quality product, seeds in our case. Sadly, nowadays this doesnt gives no one benefits nor something to eat.

We of course do self criticism, we know we´ve done things bad. We know we cant be anything out there without a proper, google well positioned -indexed web. So far we havent been lucky and when we tried to give a big step by creating a new, better and safer website ..everything went in the wrong way and we had as a result an invisible web, worlwide invisible. We cant afford paying a new one nor paying for seo-positioning services.

Cant do much either to stop nor beat or find a little space in the Spanish seed bank market. Cant spend that much in marketing, paying ads in magazines, producing thousands of seeds abroad with ramdom quality. We are simply different, we prefer making contest or giving free seeds to be grown in our little forum communities where almoust everyone has had the opportunity to try some of our seeds freely. We prefer a closer contact with our clients and friends. They do their part of the game, try our seeds, they trust us and this is so much appreciated. They usually talk and recommend our seeds to their friends and little by little things grow….but not that much in the last months.

We´ve tried to turn into something that could be commercially accepted. How is this ? We´ve been working for the last 2 years exclusively feminished versions. We dont like techniques involving chems but we decided we had to give that step if we wanted to sell something ( think more than 95% of total seed sales are feminished ). Dont like the idea of 95% of seed banks using chems to produce their seeds, surely not being used correctly not reclycled as they should in many cases, hate this idea and honestly hate to be part of this ( but we can at least say our chems are being deposited in green points and safely managed ).

Wanted to talk a bit of these things and set records straight in some points as I do feel would be good to share with the community for a later discussion. Know some folks though every single seed bank was so that full of money everywhere, yeah baby. I´ve spent wages earned from other jobs not related with Tropical to trying this last project to work somehow. Right now we cant pay fuel nor the house rent, yeah baby.

This being told, guess can be easy to understand we are debating to stop our activity. Not having the strenght needed right now to continue. Not experts here but we´ve worked for more than 7 years in this now and we do know every project and company should find the right and exact moment to stop not to be continuously loosing money. This was ment to be an economic activity also wich included some profits, maybe not the first year nor second, but trully somewhere before this date.

We need to urgently find something out of Tropical that would help us to improve our difficult situation, so that much similar to other thousands of spanish people and families.

Wouldnt like to appear as a sad or easy to go down person. I´ve done constant efforts to put Tropical Seeds where it is. Didnt have much help in many cases but hugely appreciating those people that have been so closely helping in the way, you guys now who you are so no need to tell names, hate that, sorry. I´ve felt many times big happiness while working in this project, impressive results coming from our genetics when grown by cultivators worlwide. This pays all the efforts done here. Thanks everyone who had the chance and trusted us by popping some of our beans. Best vibes always from us to you guys.

We will be thinking everything again and again trying to make the right decission in the close future.

Of course any idea or though would be much appreciated so dont you think it twice. We´ve been honest with you all so, again, we would like to hear also what you think and maybe, if possible, advices or how would you try to improve Tropical Seeds. Thanks a ton.
